LA AMAZUL, a technology, innovation and knowledge management company that operates in the nuclear and defense areas, will be present at LAAD Security & Defense 2024, which takes place from April 2 to 4 at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo.
At the largest security and defense fair in Latin America, AMAZUL will present projects in which it participates in the Navy Nuclear Program (PNM) and the Submarine Development Program (PROSUB), as well as its award-winning knowledge management methodology.
As part of the PNM, AMAZUL is working on projects to build, commission and operate a nuclear power generation plant, entirely national, and to produce nuclear fuel on an industrial scale.
In relation to the development of the nuclear plant, AMAZUL shares with the Navy the contractual management of the construction of the Nuclear Power Generation Laboratory (LABGENE), the land-based prototype of the propulsion system of the future conventionally armed nuclear-powered submarine (SCPN). LABGENE will be used to validate the design conditions and test all possible operating conditions for a nuclear propulsion plant.
As for nuclear fuel, AMAZUL is preparing to take on the contractual and operational management of the phases of the nuclear fuel cycle, which is the name given to the set of industrial processes that transform uranium into the fuel that generates energy in nuclear reactors. AMAZUL’s new tasks will involve the completion, commissioning and operation of the Uranium Hexafluoride Pilot Production Unit (USEXA), where the beneficiated uranium ore is converted into gas, and the revitalization of the Isotopic Enrichment Laboratory (LEI) and the Nuclear Materials Laboratory (LABMAT).
In PROSUB, as well as contributing to the development of the Embedded Nuclear Plant (PNE), the section of the SCPN responsible for the submarine’s propulsion, AMAZUL is committed to seeking partnerships to increase the degree of nationalization of conventional and nuclear-powered submarines, helping to strengthen the defence industrial base.
AMAZUL also has as a Strategic Defense Product a knowledge management methodology that has been successfully implemented in nuclear facilities linked to the Navy and can be replicated in any enterprise, public or private, that seeks to retain, disseminate and protect knowledge. With the methodology, AMAZUL is able to provide consultancy in the area of knowledge management to the Defense Industrial Base (BID).
In addition to knowledge management and the development of technologies aimed at guaranteeing Brazilian sovereignty at sea, AMAZUL is also active in the Brazilian Nuclear Program (PNB) with projects to improve the health and quality of life of the population and provide other benefits for society, such as generating electricity, advising on energy transition, producing radiopharmaceuticals, preserving and protecting food and materials through irradiation, among others.
With more than 10 years in the market and around 1,800 employees, AMAZUL provides the country with technologies, knowledge and trained human resources in the nuclear and submarine development areas, with the motto “National technology for the benefit of society”.
