Akaer, a Brazilian company recognized worldwide for developing cutting-edge technologies for the Defense, Aerospace and Industry 4.0 sectors, was one of the winners of the 8th edition of the National Innovation Award, granted by CNI (National Confederation of Industry) and Sebrae.

The award ceremony took place on Tuesday evening (26) at the São Paulo Expo in São Paulo (SP).

Akaer won first place in the Innovation Management category (for medium-sized companies), making it four trophies in the last three editions of the award – it is the only group in the country to reach this milestone.

At Tuesday’s awards, Akaer was also among the three best companies in the country in another category: Product Innovation.

“This award is the result of the efforts of the entire Akaer team, which inspires and exudes innovation. We believe that, through innovation, we can transform Brazil into a stronger, more egalitarian and sustainable country,” said the company’s Vice President of Research, Development and Innovation, Joselito Henriques, during the ceremony.

About the award

The National Innovation Award recognizes the best innovative practices in the country – it assesses the innovation capacity of companies and ecosystems, going beyond isolated projects.

This year’s edition had a record number of participants: more than 3,000 entries, representing every state in Brazil. From these, 39 finalist companies (small, medium and large), 9 innovation ecosystems and 8 researchers were selected.

Akaer had already won three trophies in the two previous editions of the PNI. In the 2018-2019 biennium, it won in the Product Innovation and Organizational Innovation categories. In the 2021-2022 edition, it was the champion in Process Innovation. In 2020, there was no award due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The National Innovation Award is sponsored by FINEP (Financier of Studies and Projects), a public company that promotes science, technology and innovation in the country.
