Brasília (DF) – The Army Aviation received the HM-1A Pantera aircraft No. 2014, the first modernized unit for the “K2” model delivered this year, 2023. The helicopter will be used in combat missions, combat support and logistical support, from its base at the Army Aviation Command in Taubaté (SP).

By the end of the year, the Army will receive another three HM-1A Pantera aircraft manufactured by Helibras, a Brazilian industry of helicopters for civil and military use, subsidiary of Airbus Helicopters in Brazil.

The renewal and modernization of the helicopter fleet is part of the Army’s Strategic Aviation Program.

The Aviation Program aims to provide the Land Force with modern means of logistics and combat action, with a view to the international projection of the Brazilian Army and the promotion of peace.

Over the last 30 years, Army Aviation has modernized and evolved. From the arrival of the first helicopters to the full capacity to fight at night, there have been actions to train crew members in Brazil and abroad, the acquisition of technologies, the development of employment doctrine in diverse operational environments, and the adoption of new flight techniques.
