Águas Azuis, a Specific Purpose Company (SPE) established between thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, Embraer Defense & Security and Atech for the construction of Tamandaré Class frigates for the Brazilian Navy, is among the participants of the 16th edition of Navalshore, the largest shipbuilding industry event in Latin America, which will be held between August 16 and 18, in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
The CEO of Águas Azuis, Fernando Queiroz, will be one of the lecturers of the panel “Renewal and Expansion Programs of the Brazilian Navy Naval Facilities”, scheduled for the 16th, at 4:45 pm. On this occasion, he will present a status of the Tamandaré Class Frigates Program, recognized as the most modern and innovative naval project ever developed in the country. The frigates are being built at thyssenkrupp Estaleiro Brasil Sul, in Itajaí (SC).
“Navalshore will be a great opportunity to reinforce the importance of this program. The acquisition of the frigates is part of the Navy’s efforts to modernize its Naval Force, thus allowing for the renewal of the Brazilian fleet. The ships are being built from an unprecedented technological platform in Brazil and the project provides a strong technology transfer, which will ensure the maintenance of the fleet throughout the life cycle of the vessels and will contribute to the strengthening of the national naval defense cluster,” highlights Queiroz.
