The Police Operations Congress (COP – Congresso de Operações Policiais) in São Paulo is considered the largest public security event in Latin America.
For the first time, the Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materials Industries – ABIMDE, is taking part in the Police Operations Congress in São Paulo, COP International 2023. The event, which takes place between October 25 and 27 at the São Paulo Expo in São Paulo (SP), is considered the largest public security event in Latin America.
ABIMDE will be one of the exhibitors along with industries from the public security, tactical, technological, outdoor and intelligence sectors. During the event, ABIMDE Certificadora will give a talk on the certification of products for public security. This fair will present products and innovations aimed at the defense and public security markets, with activities and launches from these sectors.
ABIMDE’s executive director, Colonel Armando Lemos, highlighted the association’s participation as a unique opportunity to interact with the industry, entities and authorities in the area of public security. “ABIMDE’s vocation is to represent the defense and security industrial base, to support and boost its actions in the national and international markets. COP International has become an event that brings together the main players in the public security sector, so we couldn’t fail to take part in such an important event.”
ABIMDE’s stand will be positioned in the area next to the auditorium where the lectures will be held, on D Street, No. 08.

Now in its third edition, the event has the institutional support of the São Paulo State Government, through the Public Security Secretariat. For the creator and organizer of COP 2023, João Sansone, the event has brought visibility to the sector and holding it in the country’s most populous capital will bring more visitors and better results.

ABIMDE Certification
The three-day congress will feature lectures, panel discussions and presentations by renowned professionals in the sector on the latest technological innovations and security solutions. The idea is to qualify and update professionals, as well as bringing civil society and police institutions closer together.
Colonel Armando Lemos will be one of the speakers at the plenary session on October 27 at 10 am. In his presentation, he will address the topic “Certifications of Controlled Defense and Security Products by SENASP standards”, in which he will share the activities of ABIMDE Certificadora.
Since June 2021, ABIMDE has been a Product Certification Body (OCP) for PCE – Army Controlled Products, and a Designated Certification Body (OCD), accredited by the General Accreditation Coordination of Inmetro (National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology). ABIMDE Certificadora is qualified to certify products controlled by the Brazilian Army and national or imported products under the rules of the National Secretariat for Public Security (SENASP).
The aim of ABIMDE Certificadora is to contribute, through the development of certification and inspection activities, to increasing the competitiveness of companies, their products, services and processes.
