Brazil hosts a meeting of American countries until Friday (29); the event is coordinated by EMCFA with the support of ABIMDE and the participation of 20 companies from the Defense and Security Industrial Base
Until next Friday (29), Brazil hosts the XV Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas (CMDA), which brings together representatives from American countries in Brasilia (DF). Coordinated by EMCFA (Armed Forces Joint Staff), with the support of ABIMDE (Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Industries), the event started yesterday (25) and counts with the participation of 20 companies from BIDS (Defense and Security Industrial Base).
The CMDA is a multilateral political meeting of international character started in 1995 and occurs every two years, period in which a member country assumes the presidency.
“The conference has a strategic objective, which is to promote actions that strengthen relations with the Armed Forces of friendly nations, actions that strengthen international cooperation and security. It is important because it also projects Brazil on the international stage,” said General Aderico Mattioli, executive president of ABIMDE.
“Brazil assumed the commitment of the presidency of the XV CMDA for the 2021/2022 cycle with the idea of contributing to conflict deterrence and improving support for foreign policy. As a member of CMDA, the country wants to contribute not only to regional stability, but also to international peace and security,” stressed Colonel Armando Lemos, Executive Director of ABIMDE.
The BIDS companies that will participate in the event are: Akaer, Ares, Atech, Avionics, Berkana, CBC, Condor, Dupont, Embraer, Emgepron, Gespi, Imbel, Iveco, Kryptus, Leonardo do Brasil, Macjee, MTX, Ocellott, Siatt and Taurus.
7th BID Brasil Show
During the XV CMDA, ABIMDE will highlight the capabilities and potentialities of the national defense and security industry and will invite the Ministers of Defense of the attending countries to have a closer look at the technologies and products developed in Brazil during the 7th BID Brazil Exhibition, which will be held between December 6th and 8th of this year, in Brasília (DF).
The most important national event in the defense and security segments, the Brazil IDB Show brings together the main companies and institutions in these markets, promoting a business agenda, networking and the dissemination of knowledge and technological innovations.
During the three days of the event, which is held by ABIMDE in partnership with ApexBrasil, the main defense and security players in Brazil expose their products and technologies to a qualified audience, which includes foreign delegations and specialized professionals.
