ABIMDE honors passage of office ceremoniesABIMDE honors passage of office ceremonies

The ABIMDE (Brazilian Defense and Security Industries Association) honored this Monday (9) the ceremonies to transfer the positions of Director of the Navy Intelligence Center (CIM) and Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces (EMCFA), in Brasilia (DF). In both events, ABIMDE was represented by the President of the Board of Directors, Dr. Roberto Gallo, and by the Executive President, General Aderico Mattioli.

In the morning, Admiral Antonio Carlos Cambra handed over the CIM’s direction to Sea and War Captain Giovani Corrêa, on an interim basis. The ceremony was presided over by the Commander of the Brazilian Navy, Admiral Marcos Sampaio Olsen.

ABIMDE’s presidency also honored the swearing in of the Armed Forces’ commanders: Admiral de Esquadra Olsen in the Brazilian Navy, on the 5th; Air Lieutenant Brigadier Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno in the Brazilian Air Force, on the 2nd, and Army General Julio Cesar de Arruda in the Brazilian Army, on December 30th.

“We wish success to the new commanders of the Armed Forces and to the new government. ABIMDE is ready to collaborate with the reindustrialization process in Brazil, aiming at the sustainable growth of the national industry, especially the Defense and Security Industrial Base,” said General Mattioli.

On January 4, Dr. Gallo also attended the inauguration of the Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Vice President Geraldo Alckmin.

The re-creation of the MDIC is pointed out by Dr. Gallo as fundamental for strengthening the Brazilian industrial policy and for implementing the structuring solutions necessary for the development of industries. He also emphasized as positive the commitment expressed by Minister José Múcio in prioritizing strategic projects and promoting the technological development of the Armed Forces.

“In his inaugural speech, the minister said he will increase the exchange of military structures with the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base and with academia, to stimulate their technical, technological, scientific, and commercial development,” said Dr. Gallo.
