Two Gripen E fighters for the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) arrived in Brazil last Sunday, the 25th, and flew today, the 28th, to the Gripen Flight and Test Center (GFTC) at Embraer’s Gavião Peixoto (SP) plant.
The aircraft arrived by ship, through the port of Navegantes, in Santa Catarina, and were flown by Saab pilots on Wednesday in a flight of approximately 50 minutes to the interior of São Paulo, where they landed around 5 p.m. The new fighters join three other units that are already in the country.
Saab has a long term partnership in Brazil and provides a number of advanced civil and military solutions. With the Gripen Program the company has established a broad technology transfer that is benefiting the national defense industry as a whole.
