Taurus is an exhibitor at the World Defense Show (WDS) 2024, one of the main global exhibitions in the defense sector, taking place from February 4 to 8 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

At the event, the company, a Brazilian multinational and one of the world’s leading arms manufacturers, is exhibiting its broad portfolio of products and launches aimed at police and military forces at a stand located in a prominent area. Taurus is also present at a stand in the Brazil Pavilion, organized by ABIMDE (Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materials Industries), together with other Brazilian companies in the sector, promoting the technological and innovation expertise of the Defense and Security Industrial Base (BIDS), fostering strategic partnerships and boosting business opportunities for Brazil.

Potential market

Saudi Arabia is an important and prominent market, being on the list of the five largest military expenditures in the world and considered one of the countries that invests the most in defense. It is no coincidence that the region is part of Taurus’ strategic plans for expansion in the Middle East and local production.

Taurus has had a regional office in Saudi Arabia since 2022 and, in December 2023, signed a non-binding Term Sheet to study the feasibility of setting up a joint venture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Scopa Military Industries.

“Taurus’ commercial strategy continues to focus on opportunities in international markets, beyond the United States, the largest arms market in the world and consecutively for Taurus. The choice of Saudi Arabia and the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region is in line with the strategic plan to expand business and increase participation in the Middle East,” says Salesio Nuhs, Global CEO of Taurus.

Recognized and innovative products on display

The Taurus stand features a complete portfolio of weapons, including the brand’s successful products and innovations developed at Taurus’ Brazil-United States Integrated Technology and Engineering Center (CITE).

At the World Defense Show 2024, Taurus will be exhibiting renowned tactical weapon models, such as the T4 assault rifle in various versions, in 5.56, 7.62 and .300 BLK calibres, as well as the T9 submachine gun in 9 mm calibre and the T10 semi-automatic precision rifle in .308 Win/7.62×51 calibre.

In the pistol segment, the TS9 and TH9 models stand out, in full and compact versions, as well as the innovative family of products finished in Cerakote® Graphene and with the revolutionary T.O.R.O. system. (Taurus Optic Ready Option) system which, through an interchangeable plate, allows optical sights to be accommodated, including the GX4 XL T.O.R.O. and the new GX4 CARRY, from the GX4 series, awarded Best Value Handgun by Ballistic Magazine and Handgun of the Year by Guns and Ammo Magazine. Also on display are the pistols in the G3 line, the G3c T.O.R.O. and the G3 Tactical, and the robust PT92 pistol with an aluminum frame.

Taurus will also be exhibiting the brand’s revolvers, featuring classic models and worldwide launches, with the highlight being the RT 856 Defender T.O.R.O., from the world’s first line of revolvers ready to be optically sighted, and the RT 856 Executive Grade with its unique finish, trigger system and accessories, both in .38 SPL caliber. The company is also exhibiting models from the Rossi-branded Taurus revolver range, renowned for their classic features and modern manufacturing techniques, including the RM64.

In addition to the weapons, visitors to the World Defense Show 2024 can also check out the suppressor models from Taurus’ high-performance, multi-caliber line, aimed at the best performance for tactical and special operations professionals. Lightweight, versatile and with high quality standards, Taurus suppressors are the first in the world to be produced with a unique Titanium core, with an exclusive CerakoteⓇ Graphene coating, and have innovative ring systems. In addition, they reduce the noise of shots by up to 25dB, guarantee stability in weapons with less recoil and allow for quick engagement.

At the stand, visitors are welcomed by executives Regis Jacobsen, Taurus International Sales Manager, Salesio Nuhs, Taurus Global CEO, Eduardo Minghelli, Taurus Supply Chain Director, Rodolfo Romero, CAA/Taurus Saudi Arabia Office Manager, and Emerson Luiz de Souza, Taurus Sales Executive.
