Safran is present at ENAVSEG (National Meeting of Public Security and Civil Defense Aviation) in Salvador (BA), between September 27 and 29. During the event, executives from Safran Helicopter Engines and Safran Electronics & Defense will present the technologies developed by the two companies.

Precision data analysis in aviation

In a world full of flight data, Safran Electronics & Defense will present Cassiopée™️ Alpha. The all-in-one solution decodes and analyzes key data from civil or military aircraft or helicopters by combining flight data monitoring software packages and customized flight data analysis solutions.

“This technology can be used by all aviation stakeholders, regardless of fleet size, such as airlines, business aviation, helicopters. It’s a way of controlling all the flight data collected, processed and analyzed in an environment that’s easy to integrate into the customer’s digital ecosystem, which will help with decision-making,” said Gustavo Bondesan, Sales Manager for the Americas.

For helicopter operators, Cassiopée facilitates the transfer of data between the ground and the aircraft, between pilots, maintenance and operations in three main components:

  • Cassiopée Digital Flight Report – a mobile application for digitizing your pre-flight and flight reports;
  • Cassiopée Helisafe – for the acquisition, wireless transmission and analysis of helicopter flight data;
  • Cockpit Voice and Flight Data Recorder, or CVFDR – ED-155 certified accident recorder for helicopters.

Flight hour support

Through its expertise, Safran is committed to guaranteeing its customers the efficiency of the equipment and technologies produced by its companies around the world.
Present in Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro, Safran Helicopter Engines reaffirms its role in providing full support for public security operations. During ENAVSEG, the public will have the opportunity to learn about the equipment and services provided by the industry, such as support per flight hour. The solution is aimed at civil, government and military operations.

In Brazil, SAFRAN Helicopter Engines already supports more than 180 engines in this modality for the military and government markets.

Because it provides for a fixed cost per flight hour per engine, the operator only pays if he flies, with no minimum number of flight hours. In the civil and government areas, Safran Helicopter Engines offers its Support by the Hour (SBH) contract, formalizing maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) and long-term services.

“Support by flight hour is fundamental for companies to have effective technical and economic management. It makes engine operating costs predictable, eliminates cash peaks and allows flexibility for scheduled and unscheduled MRO coverage,” explained Silvana Silva, Business Development Manager at Safran Helicopter Engines.

Safran in Brazil

Safran has more than 40 years of history in Brazil with more than 650 employees in the country – through Safran Helicopter Engines Brazil and, more recently, Safran Eletrônica & Defesa Brasil, Safran Cabin and Safran Aeronautic. The group is one of the country’s main partners in the aeronautics industry and the Armed Forces.
