V500 offers live video streaming and localization to improve situational awareness, safety and efficiency on the front line

Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) introduces the LTE-enabled V500 body camera, the latest addition to the company’s mobile video product portfolio, which brings critical real-time field intelligence to emergency response. The V500 body camera allows field agents to transmit live video and location to the control center, giving incident managers a better understanding of events and helping them respond quickly and effectively. Once the incident has been resolved, the V500 also streamlines evidence workflows through LTE-based image download and simplifies management with remote maintenance via mobile networks.

“Frontline teams face high-stress situations where their attention must be fully focused on the scene,” says Jeremiah Nelson, corporate vice president of Response, Reporting and Evidence at Motorola Solutions. “The V500 gives control center staff ‘eyes on the scene’ so they have clarity about what’s happening, to dispatch the appropriate assistance and capture a record of critical events. Now everyone from IT technicians to evidence officers can also benefit from this advanced LTE connectivity, accessing the images as they are recorded and managing the cameras from anywhere.”

The new body camera offers high-quality video and audio capture and is equipped with optional pre-recording and post-recording features, which helps to ensure a record of every interaction from start to finish. Along with the rest of Motorola Solutions’ mobile video product portfolio, the V500 body camera uses VideoManager evidence management software to enable the secure handling, storage and sharing of evidence, whether on-premises or in the cloud. In addition, the V500 integrates with Motorola Solutions’ ecosystem of technologies, from radio and video systems for vehicles to solutions for control rooms, as well as Holster Aware Bluetooth sensors that can trigger video recording and live streaming if a police officer draws a weapon.
