October is the month when the Airman and Brazilian Air Force (FAB) days are celebrated on the 23rd. To mark the achievements, the Institution promotes, throughout Brazil, several events. The first of them was the inter-religious thanksgiving celebration, which took place on Tuesday (October 4th), in the Special Transport Group Hangar (GTE), at the Brasília Air Base (BABR). The ceremony was presided over by the FAB Commander, Air Lieutenant Brigadier Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior.

The event was also attended by members of the Air Force High Command, General Officers and guests, among them representatives of the Catholic, Evangelical and Spiritist religions.

For the FAB Commander, the act renewed the desire for faith, hope, and the motivation to build each day a better country. “I would like to thank each one of you and the organizers, praying that we have another Wing Month of intense celebrations and reflections in favor of our Air Force and our Brazil,” highlighted the General Officer.

Interreligious Moments

The Military Archbishop of Brazil, Dom Marcony Vinícius Ferreira, made the final blessing and addressed the military personnel present. “Congratulations, my beloved sons, allow me to call you that, because from the first moment appointed by Pope Francis I was already praying for all of you, without knowing your faces, without even knowing your names, but you were already my sons. Courage and confidence. We are in difficult times, but our light, our goal, and our guide is Jesus,” he recalled.

The Evangelical Representative, the Assistant of the Religious Assistance Service of the Air Force (SARA), Captain Chaplain Ronisaulo Lima de Oliveira, prayed to God for every blessing to those who build, day after day, the Brazilian Air Force. “God bless them, so that the pages of our history, written in this time, will be able to transmit a beautiful image of our Force, as those who preceded us did in the past. God bless our Aviators, so that they always have a strong spirit, and our aircraft, so that they can be effective instruments to accomplish the mission every day”, he pointed out.

Spirit Representative, Airman Colonel Rodrigo Goretti Piedade, also delivered the message. “May God continue illuminating and protecting the Brazilian Air Force, its members, families, and our beloved Brazil. May our flights continue to be conducted by the watchful eyes of our Protector and always with the presence of Jesus in our hearts,” said the Officer.
