Video released by the Israeli authorities shows the interrogation of 6 participants in the invasion of the country on October 7th.
The Israeli police and the Shin Bet security service released on Monday (23) a set of videos of their interrogation of six Hamas terrorists, arrested for their role in the attack on the country on October 7, which killed more than 1400 people, wounded 5431, kidnapped 222, including babies, children, women and the elderly, and left 121 people missing. The most relevant parts of the testimonies were selected and released by Israel on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
According to what the terrorists said, they all received explicit orders to kill and kidnap civilians, including the elderly, women and children. They were given no indication to distinguish between military personnel and civilians. One of the detainees even admits that they used the residents of these areas as human shields. However, while they were doing this, their commanders remained in Gaza.
Many of them claimed that they had been deceived by Hamas. One of the dubious promises made by the commanders was a reward of an apartment and ten thousand dollars for every Israeli captured. The terrorists admitted that the plan was to control the cities they attacked, so after the kidnapping and killing of the civilians, they had to remain in place to maintain their position.
During interrogations, the detainees recount their actions or those of their colleagues during the invasion. According to one of them, he was reprimanded by one of the leaders present during the attack for “wasting bullets on a corpse” after shooting a woman already lying on the ground. Another recounts a situation in which they killed a man and used his family as a human shield.
Many of them described kidnapping scenes they had witnessed. “When I entered the town, I saw two [militants] on a motorcycle. They took a woman about 60-65 years old [with them] on the motorcycle,” says one of the detainees. “After Suleiman and Karem killed that woman in the town…. they picked up someone else, a man about 40-45 years old… and took him away,” says the same terrorist. When asked where the kidnappers took the civilians, he answered the same thing for both situations: “To Gaza”.
In addition to the more direct actions against civilians, they also used smoke to make them leave their shelters and murdered their pets. One of the detainees also admits to burning down two houses and using explosives on windows.
In the final moments of the interrogation, the police asked each of the terrorists if “what you did is allowed according to Islam?”. They all answered “no”, and one of them even admitted that Islam does not allow the murder of women and children.
According to André Lajst, executive president of StandWithUs Brazil, these reports only prove the atrocities committed by Hamas in Gaza. “Israel didn’t want this war. Its concern now is to put an end to Hamas, so that atrocities like these are never repeated. While the detained terrorists are being questioned, Israel continues to be bombarded by rockets from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah,” he concludes. “We know that Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah are very difficult movements to destroy.
