On Wednesday (02/04), the Commander of the Air Force, Air Brigadier Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force Command (GABAER), Air Brigadier Antonio Luiz Godoy Soares Mioni Rodrigues, and the Commander of the Fourth Regional Air Command (IV COMAR), Air Brigadier Luiz Cláudio Macedo Santos, visited LAAD Security & Defense 2024, in São Paulo (SP).
The event is in its fifth edition and brings together defense and security companies and professionals from Latin America. Exhibitors present new technologies and equipment for Public Security, the Armed Forces and the Police.
During his visit, the Commander took part in a bilateral meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Defense and commanders of the Bolivian Armed Forces. He also interacted with exhibitors and got a closer look at the latest technologies and products related to military aviation, reinforcing the FAB’s strategic role in the country’s protection and security.
The Commander spoke about the importance of the FAB participating in this type of exhibition. “We took part in LAAD last year and I could see that not only Brazilian companies, but also foreign ones are encouraged by this increase in the space industry. This type of event is important because it demonstrates Brazil’s commitment to national security and defense, as well as promoting integration with other nations and the defense industry, contributing to technological development,” he explained.
