The vehicles will pass through the states of Mato Grosso, Rondônia and Amazonas before reaching their final destination

(Campo Grande News) With more than 100 vehicles, a Brazilian Army convoy is on its way to Boa Vista (RR) to carry out exercises. According to the communications office of the CMO (Western Military Command), the convoy began moving last Saturday (13) and the images were released on Monday.

The operation, divided into four phases, is currently in its third. The first stage took place at the 20th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Campo Grande. The start of the operation was called Initial Concentration of Means. The vehicles are being sent according to the schedule already established by the Brazilian Army.

In addition to the vehicles, troops made up of more than 200 soldiers are also on their way. A total of 89 vehicles are being sent for the operation, made up of 28 armored vehicles – 14 Guaicurus, 8 Guaranis and 6 Rattlesnakes – as well as other operational, support and escort vehicles.

The teams will cover around 2,500 km overland. Another 1,200 km will have to be covered by water. The vehicles will pass through the states of Mato Grosso, Rondônia and Amazonas before arriving in Roraima. The movements are under the control of the 18th Transportation Battalion, of the 9th Logistics Group.

According to reports, the Mechanized Fleet will be taking part in the Readiness Forces’ strategic concentration exercise, Operation Roraima. The soldiers will also take part in the plan to restructure the 1st Jungle Infantry Brigade and consequently create the 18th Mechanized Cavalry Regiment in Boa Vista.

The convoy of 89 vehicles moving to the city of Boa Vista is made up of 28 armored vehicles, 14 of which are Guaicurus, 08 Guaranis and 06 Rattlesnakes, as well as other operational, support and escort vehicles. In total, the convoy will cover around 2,500 km by land and a river stretch of over 1,200 km, passing through the states of Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Rondônia, Amazonas and ending in Roraima.
