The Graduated Master function was implemented by means of Ordinance No. 1.389/GC3, of September 10th, 2018, and is a historic milestone, since graduates of various specialties now advise and assist Commanders in matters relating to the squares, becoming vital links, as diffusers and catalysts of the orders issued by COMAER’s top management.
The main objective of the Graduated Master function is to involve the officers in assisting senior management, providing advice on issues relating to discipline, morale, career, motivation, functional performance, instruction and training, well-being, health and social support, professional satisfaction and support for the military family, in the circle of officers.
Its creation meets the demand to improve personnel management, the system for valuing individual performance, the adoption of measures to value the performance of core activities and relevant functions, as well as the Air Force Commander’s directives regarding the analysis of the merit of the Graduated Personnel Corps.
The Graduated Master position is held by a Chief Petty Officer with outstanding leadership, recognized professional competence and unblemished personal conduct, which are necessary criteria for the military officer who will hold it and are verified through a rigorous selection process.
Note: Graduado-Master in the FAB conception’ is not a rank position itself. Nonetheless, it has a similar rank position to an Senior Master Sergeant in the USAF.
