The T4 assault rifle, produced by Taurus, has been fully approved and homologated in accordance with the standards set out in Ordinance No. 304/2021 – NT-SENASP No. 004-2021, issued by the National Secretariat for Public Security, becoming the first Brazilian assault rifle to obtain this important certification of conformity.
The certificate was issued by ABIMDE Certificadora on September 22, 2023, after the weapon underwent a sequence of 14 rigorous quality tests, carried out in a laboratory certified by the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO) and designated by SENASP, including evaluation of general characteristics and metrology, interchangeability, resistance, trigger pull force, precision and accuracy, drop, adverse conditions such as sand, dust, immersion in water, among others.
The samples were fully approved without any reservations and once again confirmed the quality of the renowned T4 assault rifle, an extremely resistant, reliable, lightweight weapon that is easy to use and maintain, specially developed for the police and military market with state-of-the-art materials and adapted to allow customization with the use of a wide range of accessories.
The T4 assault rifle had already been tested, approved and certified by the Brazilian Army, and was acquired and used by various security agencies in Brazil. However, approval by SENASP has become essential, as it is now a requirement of the Secretariat for the acquisition of equipment by Brazilian public security agencies through a bidding process.
As in Brazil, the T4 assault rifle is widely used by military, police and security forces around the world, especially by NATO member countries and the Philippine Army, where it has become the standard rifle in operations, with national and international recognition of its quality.
