In an interagency action, the FAB, Receita Federal and the Federal Police seized
On Monday (27/11), Operation Air Bridge, which involves the security forces fighting organized crime through the Guarantee of Law and Order (GLO), seized 35 kg of illicit goods at Guarulhos Airport and 1.5 kg at Galeão.
During an inspection activity carried out in Guarulhos, with the collaboration of the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB), cargo was identified in the export terminal as possibly containing illegal goods. The cargo was x-rayed and sniffer dogs from the RFB and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) helped identify it.
The cargo seized came from Goiânia and was on its way to Madrid, bound for Hong Kong. In the 246 pallets inspected, 13 suspicious boxes were signaled by FAB sniffer dogs. Upon inspection, almost 35 kg of drugs with characteristics similar to cocaine were found.
At Galeão airport, soldiers from the GLO RJ Battalion, in synergistic action with the RFB, carried out sniffing activities in the postal consignments area. A package from the United States was detected containing a substance identified by the RFB as hashish inside containers that were to be sent to São Paulo.

Under Decree No. 11.765 of November 1, 2023, which involves the security forces fighting organized crime through the Guarantee of Law and Order (GLO), the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) is fulfilling its role with the institutions involved in strengthening the fight against drug trafficking, arms trafficking and other illicit conduct, through preventive and repressive actions at the international airports of Guarulhos in São Paulo and Galeão in Rio de Janeiro.
The preventive and repressive actions collaborate with the Federal Police, the Federal Revenue Service, the Federal Highway Police, the National Health Surveillance Agency, the Military and Civil Police of both states, working in the operational area of the Galeão and Guarulhos international airports, in the areas of baggage handling, inspection of suspicious cargo or passengers and employees who are in the routine of the airports, with the help of sniffer dogs, patrolling the perimeters of the airports with the use of vehicles and armed military personnel acting at sensitive points, and carrying out patrols in the lobbies.
