The Minister of Defense, José Mucio Monteiro Filho, took part in a meeting with the Air Force High Command on Wednesday (21/02) in Brasília (DF). The event was attended by General Officers of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), some of whom were recently promoted last year. On the occasion, with the Minister present, topics of interest to the FAB and society were discussed, such as some strategic projects that reinforce the Force’s commitment to border integrity.
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Force Lieutenant General Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, thanked the Minister for his visit and for all his commitment and partnership in 2023. “Over the last year, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing challenges and triumphs, with the opportunity to witness your performance and differentiated strategic vision. We are proud to note that the FAB, in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, has been successful in numerous actions and missions in 2023, and that this success confirms our readiness to meet the needs of our people,” he said.
High Command
The High Command of the Air Force is the body responsible for advising the Commander in his duties of directing and managing the Force. It is also responsible for assessing matters of interest to the FAB, drawing up the lists of choices for promotion to the ranks of General Officers and advising the Commander on matters relating to Air Force Military Policy.
