The Brazilian Air Force (FAB), through the First Squadron of the First Transport Group (1st/1st GT) – Gordo Squadron, carried out, on 07/29, the air transportation of an Oxygen Plant, from the Manaus Air Base (BAMN) to the Hospital Unit of the municipality of Tabatinga, in the interior of Amazonas. The equipment includes an O2 generator weighing three tons and was taken by a KC-390 Millennium.

The mission responded to a request from the Amazonas State Health Secretariat (SES/AM), which found limitations to meet the demand for oxygen supply in the Tabatinga Garrison Hospitals (HGUT). “The Hospital Unit UPA 24h and Maternity Celina Villacrez Ruiz has an Oxygen Plant in its facilities, but this equipment is deactivated, due to several technical problems that could not be solved immediately. The implementation of a new Plant will improve the work process of that Unit, “said the Executive Secretary of Assistance of SES-AM, Leandro Silva Pimentel.

The Commander of VII COMAR, Major General David Almeida Alcoforado, emphasized the mission of the Air Force symbolized in yet another action carried out in the Amazon region. “The FAB once again provides important support to Amazonian society, fulfilling the mission of integrating our vast territory, thus overcoming the most complex logistical challenges, always present in our region,” said the General Officer.
