Monte Caseros (Argentina) – Operation Arandu, an exercise carried out jointly by specialized troops of the Brazilian and Argentine armies, was concluded last Friday, 4. A military graduation conducted by the exercise directors, General Janjar, of the Brazilian Army, and General Torres, of the Argentine Army, was attended by military personnel from all the troops employed and marked the end of the activities. In total, the operation brought together 1,400 military personnel from both countries, including troops on the ground and exercise support.

Throughout the week, joint activities included paratroop jumps, special troop actions, airborne embarkation and disembarkation, armored vehicle deployments and firing, and aviation firing. Corporal Simões, from the Brazilian Army, highlighted the importance of the operation. “It was a great opportunity to be here with our Argentine colleagues. It was a very instructive activity for both me and my companions.” Soldier Paz, from Argentina, also highlighted the experience. “I think it was a great chance to share knowledge with the Brazilian troops.”

Combined exercise

Between July 30 and August 4, the Brazilian and Argentine armies carried out Operation Arandu, an exercise between the two forces with the aim of consolidating military cooperation between the two countries and strengthening the bonds of union and friendship between the armies of the two nations. With the participation of 300 soldiers from the Brazilian Army and 348 from the Argentine Army, the operation included the use of aircraft and armored vehicles from both countries.

From the Brazilian Army, military personnel from the Army General Staff, the Land Operations Command, the Southern Military Command, the Army Social Communication Center, the 2nd Mechanized Cavalry Brigade, the 12th Light Infantry Brigade (Aeromobile), the Paratrooper Infantry Brigade, the Army Aviation Command and the Special Operations Command participated.
