On Tuesday afternoon (30), the Minister of Defense, José Mucio Monteiro Filho, received the President of the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), Carlos Augusto Teixeira de Moura, at the folder’s headquarters. During the meeting, matters of common interest between the ministries were discussed, such as the National Program for Space Activities (PNAE), the PL 1006/2022 “Space Law”, and the space economic sector.
On the occasion, the AEB president presented the PNAE as a defense strategy, with emphasis on the Alcântara Launching Center, where the first private space transportation operation took place in Brazil. The authorities also talked about the cooperation between the agencies for the development of technologies, as well as the monitoring of the air space via satellite and the international recognition of the country in the aerospace sector, regarding capacity building, industry, infrastructure and programs.
