Louisiana (USA) – One of the pillars of training and certifying the readiness of a troop is the existence of qualified and trained military personnel as Training Observers and Controllers. In 2024, Operation CORE has a team of 15 observers and controllers from the East and South Training Centers, COTER and the Health Directorate.

Between August 6 and 10, the team took part in specific training at the Observer Coach and Trainer Academy at Fort Johnson-Lousiana.

The 15 trainees received theoretical and practical instruction on the role and actions of observers in a Force-on-Force Exercise. They also took part in a reconnaissance of the terrain of the CORE 24 exercise and practiced driving the M1097 HMMWV during the day and at night using a night vision goggle.

The observers will work in Rotation 24-10 of the Joint Readiness Training Center with the CORE Troop, as well as other command structures linked to the US Army’s 101st Airborne Div.

In this way, these soldiers will contribute to Brazil’s participation in Exercise CORE 24, as well as to improving the work of the Training Centers in Brazil and also to improving Brazilian Military Doctrine.
