On May 25, 2023, six new pop-up targets were inaugurated and one mobile target line was revitalized at the Tenente de Lacerda Shooting Range (PTTDL), in the Barão de São Borja Field of Instruction, Saicã, in Rosário do Sul (RS). In the next semester we will have another six new fixed targets, as well as a second mobile target line. With this, our firepower gains a new ally in operational efficiency.

Modernizing Dressage

The static and moving target system was developed by AEL Sistemas, a Brazilian defense technology company. The moving line is composed of a 140-meter rail, which has a device holding the target, which can move at speeds of up to 30 km per hour.

The operation of the targets is controlled by a team of instructors, trained by AEL Sistemas, who are located in the Exercise Direction Room (DirEx), in the PTTDL Observation Tower.

The commander of the 3rd DE, General Pimentel, when inaugurating the start of the operation of the new targets, spoke of the importance of adding capabilities with partner institutions, so that together we can overcome the challenges.

The Commander of the 6th Infant Bld, General Ribeiro, highlighted that a shooting stand with resources of this nature offers the armored and mechanized troops a high level training capacity, providing better conditions to accomplish the mission of defending the Homeland.
