Taurus, a Strategic Defense Company and one of the world’s leading arms manufacturers, continues to innovate and launches yet another tactical weapon on the market, the T9 carbine, produced 100% in Brazil. The equipment in 9mm caliber and 8“ barrel will soon also be available in three other barrel lengths: 5.5”, 11“ and 16”.
With a modern design on the AR platform, the novelty is made of 7075 aluminum, providing lightness and resistance.
It has a magazine with a capacity of 32 shots, compatible with other models on the market, and is transparent, allowing the ammunition to be seen.
The T9 8” rifle is fully ambidextrous (bolt catch, magazine catch, firing selector and ambidextrous operating lever), has a 5-position retractable stock, MIL-STD-1913 top Picatinny rail, and flip-up and removable sights, which add the possibility of using a variety of optical equipment, catering for the most diverse uses of the product.
The MLOK (Modular Lock) handguard provides better ergonomics, as well as being thinner, lighter and adaptable to the needs of each application, allowing accessories to be mounted as the user wishes.
The T9 carbine is aimed at the police and military markets and is ideal for tactical use in close-range situations in urban and rural environments. It is also suitable for sport shooting.
The 8” barrel model weighs 2.594 kg (without magazine) and 2.714 kg (with magazine), measures 655 mm with the stock retracted, has a ‘safe’ and ‘semi-automatic’ firing selector, as well as the ‘automatic’ option, exclusively in the version of the equipment for military and police agencies. It operates with a Blowback action system, which eliminates the need to lock the breech, allowing for a higher rate of fire.
The T9 expands Taurus’ portfolio of tactical weapons, offering more options to meet the needs of its customers.
The version with an 8” barrel is already being marketed by the company, available at Taurus dealer stores and on the Taurus sales portal, aimed at military personnel, police officers, CACs and other categories authorized to purchase these products, in accordance with current legislation.
