Ágata Amazônia Joint Command

Vale do Javari (AM) – With a focus on protecting indigenous communities and preserving the environment, military personnel engaged in Operation Ágata Amazônia 2024 are working in the Vale do Javari on patrols, monitoring and combating illegal activities.

At the same time, men and women from the Brazilian Navy and the Brazilian Army are carrying out Civic-Social Actions and providing hospital care to indigenous communities.

This joint action by the Armed Forces strengthens the state’s presence in a strategic region, ensuring that the natural and cultural wealth of the Javari Valley is preserved for future generations. Operations in the Amazon are examples of the Armed Forces’ commitment to defending the nation and promoting peace in areas that are difficult to access.

Operation Ágata Amazônia 2024

The Ágata Amazônia Joint Command has been consolidated as a strategic action by the Ministry of Defense, authorized by GM-MD Ordinance No. 3,628 of July 30, 2024, to strengthen the State’s presence in the Amazon and combat cross-border and environmental crimes, in addition to promoting the State’s presence and bringing citizenship to indigenous and riverside populations with Civic Social and Hospital Assistance Actions.
