Brasília (DF) – In the federal capital, almost everything is ready for the traditional September 7th parade. The event, which takes place this Saturday (7), on the Esplanade of Ministries, in Brasília (DF), will feature several attractions, including the military parade of the Armed Forces and the presentation of the Smoke Squadron.
The event will bring together various symbolisms, organized along three axes. One of them addresses the strategic importance of the G20 meeting in Brazil in November, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), with the presentation of the 21 flags of the countries that make up the summit. The parade will also pay tribute to those involved in the reconstruction of Rio Grande do Sul and the vaccination campaigns. Check out the event’s full schedule here.
Parade will praise vaccination, Mais Médicos, G20 and pay tribute to gauchos
Traditionally, the September 7th parade on the Esplanade of Ministries is marked by the presence of the President of the Republic, a parade of military personnel and students, and the presentation of the Smoke Squadron. This year, the civic-military event, organized by the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom), will have meanings that go beyond the usual celebrations around Independence Day.
Under the slogan “Democracy and Independence – Brazil on the right track”, the event will unite various symbolisms. The festival is organized along three axes. One of them addresses the strategic importance of the G20 meeting in Brazil in November in Rio de Janeiro and, during the parade, the 21 flags of the countries that make up the summit will be presented.
The parade will also pay tribute to the nation’s efforts to support and rebuild Rio Grande do Sul, following the climate crisis that hit the state in May. The third axis will emphasize the resumption of the broad protection of children and the population through vaccination campaigns and the expansion of health care services, with the resumption of Mais Médicos (More Doctors). The event will be attended by one of Brazil’s most famous mascots, Zé Gotinha, who will take part in the parade in a truck belonging to the Federal District Military Fire Brigade (CBMDF).
In addition to the tributes, the parade, as usual, will feature a performance by the Esquadrilha da Fumaça (Smoke Squadron), one of the highlights of the festival, with aerial acrobatics in the capital’s sky, scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
