The Ministry of Defense (MD), through the Secretariat of Defense Products (SEPROD), participated, on Tuesday (21), in a meeting with representatives of the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment (ABIMAQ). On the occasion, opportunities for partnerships in the sector were discussed, to encourage the Defense Industrial Base (BID).
During the meeting, held at the Department’s headquarters, the Secretary of Defense Products, Rui Chagas Mesquita, highlighted the Secretariat’s role. “Understanding the real scenario that involves our defense industrial park is essential for us to be able to do our job in favor of a strong Defense Industrial Base,” he said.
On March 29, representatives from SEPROD and ABIMAQ will meet again, in a virtual event, to continue the topics discussed in the first meeting, such as partnership opportunities in the machinery and equipment industry.
The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DECTI-MD), Brigadier General Carlos Eduardo da Mota Góes; the Director of the Department of Defense Products (DEPROD-MD), Rear-Admiral Vagner Belarmino de Oliveira; and the President of the Sectorial Chamber of Machines, Equipment and Components for Defense and Security, João Eduardo Dmitruk; among others.
