Safran took part in ENAVSEG (National Meeting of Public Security and Civil Defense Aviation) in Foz do Iguaçu (PR) until August 30. Executives from Safran Electronics & Defense Avionics USA, Safran Eletrônica & Defesa Brasil and Safran Helicopter Engines Brasil were representing the company.
Considered a global reference in the Aerospace, Defense and Security sectors, Safran presented some of the technologies it has developed and which are already recognized for their efficiency in these areas.
Safran Electronics & Defense offers a complete digital chain for helicopters, from data acquisition and transmission through Helicom, to data decoding and analysis with Cassiopée Alpha. The Helicom flight data recording and transmission unit, fully automated from storage to wireless transmission of data and alerts, enables comprehensive, real-time monitoring of the helicopter. The data is immediately available via the secure Cassiopée interface, facilitating detailed and in-depth analysis for flight tracking and flight data monitoring programs.
Every day, Safran Electronics & Defense supports airlines, business aviation, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), maintenance, repair and overhaul companies (MROs) and global service providers by improving flight safety and operational efficiency, while reducing maintenance costs and optimizing aircraft availability.
With a strong presence in Public Security operations, the event’s participants had the opportunity to learn about the wide range of engines produced by Safran Helicopter Engines. The unit in Brazil provides full support to firefighters and police through Support by the Hour (SBH) contracts and its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) center located in Rio de Janeiro. This support involves more than 1,800 engines in operation throughout Latin America.
Worldwide
With more than 1,000 pieces of equipment supporting various armed and security forces around the world, Safran Eletrônica & Defesa Brasil will be demonstrating the Euroflir410, the very high resolution multispectral camera system for aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) used in intelligence, protection, search and rescue missions.
The Euroflir410 has state-of-the-art video sensors capable of recognizing and identifying threats from kilometers away, day or night, in any weather condition.
ACE (Advanced Cognitive Engine), Safran’s on-board artificial intelligence, is integrated into the Euroflir 410. It gives operators in the field a better understanding of the situational environment, regardless of its complexity. ACE offers a wide range of new capabilities, such as vehicle and human identification, obstacle-proof tracking, vehicle speed determination, identification of a mobile threat in a static crowd, head counting, among others. It can also correct for the effects generated by ambient atmospheric conditions.
Proven in combat, the equipment is used in the NH90 helicopters of the NATO Helicopter Management Agency (NAHEMA) and the AS565 Panthers of the French Navy, deployed in today’s most demanding theaters.
“We are committed to offering cutting-edge products for all security forces. Our solutions are developed with the highest technology to support Brazilian security and sovereignty in the defense and aerospace sectors,” emphasized David Montmasson, CEO of Safran Eletrônica e Defesa Brasil.
