Resende (RJ) – From August 1st to 8th, the 9th Motorized Infantry Brigade (9th Bda Inf Mtz) was certified as a Readiness Force (FORPRON): Operation Encore. In this cycle, the Battleship Task Force was evaluated and certified. The Operation took place at the Agulhas Negras Military Academy (AMAN), based in Resende, and involved around 1,300 military personnel.
In the Live Simulation phase, the East Training Center (CA Leste) assisted in verifying the troops’ training, using a tactical engagement simulation device.
According to Lieutenant-Colonel Igor, Commander of the Battleship Task Force and of the 1st BI Mec (Es) – one of the 11 military organizations directly subordinated to the “9th of War”, the aim of Operation Encore this year is to defend the territory: “For the operation to be successful, it is necessary to wear down, disorganize or even neutralize the enemy before they even reach our position,” he says.
In the context of a Defensive Operation, the Task Force carried out various activities, such as preparing defensive positions, artillery fire and command and control.
This joint work is essential for training the troops, thus guaranteeing national sovereignty.
