REVO has just presented the national market with a new proposal for a vehicle adapted for use in military operations. Designed by the company’s Prototype Engineering team, the Militarized Mitsubishi L200 Triton pickup truck has received several improvements to adapt it to the needs of the Armed Forces.

The largest vehicle adaptation company in Brazil, REVO produces a complete range of special vehicles for different purposes, such as ambulances, police vehicles, transport fleets, special trucks, fire-fighting vehicles, customized leisure vehicles, vehicles developed for agribusiness activities and special motorcycles, as well as having an in-house armor production line. And now there are also models perfectly suited to defense-related activities.

REVO’s CEO, Flavio Padovan, was excited by the first prototype. “The Militarized Mitsubishi L200 Triton has undergone a complete transformation, enhancing its capabilities in order to meet the most stringent demands of this segment. From its structure to the electrical system, every detail has been reinforced to withstand extreme mechanical and environmental stresses,” he explained.

The model has undergone dozens of transformations. Externally, the Forest Green color stands out and the adoption of a snorkel, which raises the installation of the engine’s air filter and makes it possible to cross up to 1 meter deep in flooded terrain, as well as having a suspension raised by 2 inches. “These changes not only put this pick-up in ideal conditions for crossing streams, for example, but also increase its performance in more radical off-road situations,” said Padovan.

Other external highlights that demarcate the strong personality of the Militarized Mitsubishi L200 Triton:

  • A winch with a capacity of 12,000 pounds (about 5,440 kg), support tools (shovel, pickaxe and axe), as well as a 20-liter fuel tank and removable bracket.
  • Protectors on the headlights, lanterns and cat’s eyes ensure that the vehicle maintains its visibility and safety, while a robust protection system on the bucket provides safety for the occupants and flexibility for loading.
  • A reinforced front bumper with a bush breaker for overcoming terrain with taller vegetation and a vertical blade attached to the front bumper for cutting wires (the aim is to protect the windshield), as well as a tip-over protection system in the bucket to protect the passengers, made of Schedule steel (the same material used in oil plants, capable of withstanding large deformation and breaking forces).
  • The Militarized L200 Triton also has a canvas top and 2 reclining seats, equipped with seat belts that carry up to 4 people (military troops), but which can be folded down so that the truck can be used to transport small loads.
  • The rear bumper is made of steel with a 4 mm profile, which is fitted with military lights, towing and lifting hooks, a 12-volt socket for trailers carrying ammunition or general cargo and a “G” type hitch (military specification).
  • With all the modifications in place, the vehicle has been specially prepared to be lifted onto aircraft carriers using cranes, or transported by helicopter.

On the inside, the Militarized L200 Triton pickup truck has a multimedia GPS, a military map light and an inclinometer. The entire electrical system has been resized to accommodate the conversion process, allowing the vehicle’s original lights to be disabled during night operations and more discreet military actions contribute to this function. The seats and floor have been covered in waterproof material.
