From August 26 to September 6, 2024, the Readiness Force (FORPRON) of the 6th Armored Infantry Brigade carried out Operation Minuano, as part of the preparation for the certification of its troops, to be held at the end of October, at the Barão de São Borja Training Camp in Rosário do Sul-RS.

The Task Forces trained their platoons of armored marines and combat vehicles through field exercises aimed at carrying out offensive operations in an external defense context. The activity explored the amphibious capacity of the M113BR armored vehicles to cross waterways and also included the real firing of Leopard 1A5 combat vehicles. In Santa Maria, the training used tactical engagement simulation devices (DSET), making it possible to measure the tactical performance of the units in detail.

The 3rd Self-Propelled Field Artillery Group, Mallet Regiment, trained FORPRON’s fire support by planning and conducting simulated firing missions using modern M109 A5+BR howitzers.

During the same period, the 1st Combat Car Regiment, supported by the IRB heavy carriers of the 12th Armored Combat Engineering Battalion, carried out an operation to cross an immediate watercourse, an activity attended by a delegation from the Army’s 4th Deputy Chief of Staff.

The 6th Armored Infantry Brigade, Niederauer Brigade, is one of the Brazilian Army brigades selected to be part of the Ground Force Operational Readiness System (SISPRON), reflecting the high level of motivation and professionalism of its members in the constant task of always being prepared for its main mission: the defense of the homeland.
