Saab today (09) delivered two new Gripen E fighter jets to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). The planes arrived in Brazil last Friday (05), in Santa Catarina, and flew on today’s date directly to Anápolis Air Base, responsible for the operation of the fighters.
The aircraft with registration numbers FAB 4105 and FAB 4106 were flown by FAB pilots Lieutenant Colonel Cristiano de Oliveira Perez and Major Abdon de Rezende Vasconcelos in a flight lasting approximately 1h30min. With these, the Brazilian Air Force now has 6 Gripen E fighters in operation.
The delivery takes place on the same day that Saab and Embraer inaugurate the fighter production line in Brazil, registering another important milestone for the Brazilian Gripen Program.
New F-39 Gripen Fighter Production Line Inauguration
Saab and Embraer have inaugurated on May 9th, 2023, the production line for the Gripen E fighter jet in Brazil at Embraer’s Gavião Peixoto (SP) site.
This is an important milestone in the technology transfer program and in the companies’ commitment to work together on new business opportunities.
