Imperatriz (MA) – From April 24th to 28th, the activities of the Training Program for Adaptation to Aeromobile Operations of the Northern Military Command took place. Several theoretical and practical instructions aimed at improving and developing the knowledge of tactics and the planning process of aeromobile operations. Thirty-six Army officers and sergeants and one Civil Police agent from the state of Pará participated in the training course.

Officer Aspirant Letícia Yukari Takeda, from the 2nd Jungle Infantry Battalion (2nd BIS), commented about her learning and the exchange of experiences. “During the internship, we were able to learn techniques for aeromobile infiltration and exfiltration, tactical employment, differentiate the types of aircraft used by the Brazilian Army, and we were able to finish with a golden key, with the execution of an exercise on the ground. The trainees also studied the safety procedures and the notions of operating a Helicopter Landing Zone at night.

The Commander of the 50th Jungle Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Mendes Melo, highlighted the importance of the target attack exercise, which marked the conclusion of the Internship and put into practice all the knowledge acquired throughout the week. “The internship was crowned with Operation Zawaruhu, which means ‘jaguar’ in the Guajajara dialect. During the operation, the troops perform aeromobile infiltration, ground infiltration through the jungle, and, after conquering the objective, they perform aeromobile exfiltration”, he says.

In a combined manner, the 2nd Jungle Marine Company, a subunit that integrates the Readiness Force of the 23rd Jungle Infantry Brigade, undertook a River Combat March, sailing about 10 km on the Tocantins River, in order to join the aeromobile troop on the ground.

The internship was successfully concluded, qualifying all the military personnel involved.
