SIATT provided an exact replica of the missile for the civic celebration, which took place on Saturday (7) on the Esplanade of Ministries.
One of the most important defense projects being implemented in Brazil, the MANSUP missile, was prominently displayed during the September 7th Parade, which took place on the Esplanade of Ministries in Brasília (DF). SIATT provided a model for the great civic celebration, which recalls Brazil’s Independence in 1822.
The presentation of MANSUP, an anti-ship missile system developed and produced entirely in Brazil, underlines the progress made in national defense capacity and the commitment to protecting the Blue Amazon, which covers the country’s vast exclusive economic zone in the Atlantic.
MANSUP
The MANSUP missile is an outstanding example of Brazil’s technological progress and autonomy in defending its borders and strategic interests.
This type of equipment not only represents a milestone in the Brazilian defense industry, but also reinforces Brazil’s deterrent power, demonstrating that the country is well equipped to protect its resources. The display during the parade reflects the strategic importance of MANSUP for Brazil.
SIATT is a Strategic Defense Company and is responsible for a significant part of the missile’s development. In addition, SIATT also integrates the weapon into Navy ships and is responsible for producing and marketing MANSUP worldwide.
The EDGE Group, which holds a 49.9% stake in SIATT, will provide the financial resources to complete the MANSUP project. The missile will thus be available for installation on the Navy’s Tamandaré-class frigates from 2026.
The funds will be made available through the agreement signed on September 3, 2024 at EDGE’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, which also provides for the company’s investment in the development of MANSUP-ER (MANSUP Extended Range), a new version of the equipment with an increase in range to 200 km and the inclusion of other relevant functionalities.
