Atech will provide Air Defense simulator for use in the international cyber defense exercise for the third consecutive year

Between April 18 and 21, Atech will participate in the largest and most complex international cyber defense exercise in the world – Locked Shields 2023, held annually in Estonia. The event is organized by the Center for Excellence in Cooperative Cyber Defense (CCDCOE), an agency linked to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

The goal of the exercise is for teams to face all challenges in different categories. Strategic decision makers and technicians work together to properly address all elements of a large-scale cyber attack in realistic simulation. In 2023, the event will be attended by 3,000 participants from 38 countries.
Atech, with its expertise in developing air traffic management and defense systems, will provide the air defense solution that makes up the infrastructure of the exercise, presenting a system with simulated radar, automatic classification, interception, and C4I for situational visualization of the teams competing in the challenge presented.

The exercise will have a team from Atech that will support the system and make the necessary adjustments – requested by the teams. Atech’s air defense solution has intentional vulnerabilities in the system, so that the participants of the attack team can exploit them and the participants of the defense team can take measures to mitigate the attacks launched.

“We are the only Brazilian company present in the exercise infrastructure. Our participation in such a large-scale simulation highlights Atech’s expertise in developing and engineering systems for the cybersecurity, defense and air traffic markets. We are happy to give international visibility to technology developed in Brazil,” said Giacomo Staniscia, director of defense business at Atech.
