Event accessible to the public over 18 and free for security and defense professionals will bring together state and federal authorities in the sector

From October 16 to 18, 2024, the capital of São Paulo will host COP International. The largest meeting in Latin America focused on police operations aims to integrate security forces, defense and civil society, promoting a space for dialogue and sharing solutions.

The event is open to the public over the age of 18, and registration is free for public security professionals.

Over three days, the COP will bring together authorities from the sector, such as Dr. Mário Sarrubbo, National Secretary for Public Security, Camila Pintarelli, Director of Management for the National Public Security Fund, and São Paulo’s Secretary for Public Security, Guilherme Derrite, who will be among the more than 30 professionals scheduled to speak on the event’s two stages.

Interfederative Network discusses investments from the National Public Security Fund

One of the main highlights of this edition will be the meeting of the Interfederative Network of the National Public Security Fund, which will discuss investments, with more than R$1.08 billion already earmarked directly for the states by 2024.

The COP is a platform of excellence for promoting synergy between the various spheres of public security, resulting in concrete actions for the population,” says Camila Pintarelli, Director of the FNSP.

Entourages of public security professionals and class and association meetings

State and federal representatives of delegations linked to the sector will take part in strategic meetings aimed at improving coordination and the response to security demands. Meetings of the National College of Public Security Secretaries – CONSESP, the National Councils of the country’s security forces, the National Council of General Commanders – CNCG, the National Council of Civil Police Chiefs – CONCPC, the National Council of Municipal Guards – CNGM, among others, have been confirmed.

The role of criminal factions in Brazil will be highlighted at the event

The event will host important discussions on pressing issues, such as the impact of criminal factions in Brazil, with the participation of authorities such as the Undersecretary for Integration and Public Security of Minas Gerais, Christian Vianna de Azevedo, who will address the expansion of the PCC and arms and drug trafficking and Delegate Fabrício Oliveira, Coordinator of CORE-RJ, who will present the Operational Challenges in Combating Organized Crime.

Another topic of great relevance will be the role of the security forces in crisis management, exemplified by the recent floods in Rio Grande do Sul, to be presented by Delegate Bolivar Llantada, Coordinator of CORE-RS.

Santa Catarina, which leads the country’s public security ranking, will be the focus of a presentation on the strategies that have resulted in a significant drop in crime rates in the state, given by the Secretary of Prison Administration, Carlos Alves.

For João Sansone, the event’s Executive Director, COP International goes beyond a technical meeting: “Our aim is to strengthen collaboration between public security forces, defense, the private sector and civil society. Integration is essential for tackling Brazil’s security challenges. This event provides the ideal environment for this joint effort,” says Sansone.

Exhibition of national and international solutions

With a diversified program, COP International will also promote an exclusive business space, where national and international companies linked to the sector will exhibit their innovations in security, defense, technologies and equipment, including non-lethal solutions.

In parallel to COP International 2024, Enforce Tac, the leading European event for the public security sector, organized by Germany’s NürnbergMesse, will be held for the first time in the country.

In the partnership between COP International and Enforce Tac, several exchange activities between the events are planned, such as the presence of international authorities, sharing of experiences and case studies, as well as an exclusive space for foreign exhibitors.
