Ponta Grossa (PR) – On September 10, 2024, the 5th Armored Cavalry Brigade received a visit from the Commander of Land Operations, Army General André Luis Novaes Miranda, with the aim of checking out the Potyguara Readiness Force (FORPRON).
The main activities carried out during the visit were a survey of relevant information about the operation of this large unit, conducted by Brigadier General Fábio Cordeiro Pacheco, Commander of the 5th Brigade, followed by a quick formation and a close look at the operational readiness of the troops. The highlight of the activities was a demonstration of the use of FORPRON troops in the area of the General Calasans Training Camp (CIGC).
It should be noted that the 5th Brigade is a highly specialized troop, equipped with high-tech resources and capable of fulfilling its constitutional missions.
General Novaes was accompanied by Army General Hertz Pires do Nascimento, Southern Military Commander, Division General Ricardo José Nigri, Commander of the 5th Army Division and Brigadier General Ivan Alexandre Corrêa Silva, Commander of the 5th Military Region. Army General José Luiz Dias Freitas, former Commander of Land Operations, also attended.
The visit by the Commander of Land Operations reflects the importance of this Armored Brigade on the national scene and is yet another highlight for the city of Ponta Grossa.
