A great movement of authorities and businessmen in the Brazilian booths confirms the international interest in the Brazilian BIDS

Indo Defence 2022, one of the biggest exhibitions in the area of Defense and Security in Southeast Asia, held in Jakarta, Indonesia, ended last Saturday (5).

ABIMDE (Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materials Industries) and the 18 companies present in the Brazil Pavilion had the opportunity to present to the visitors the diversity and technological quality of the products and services developed by the national BIDS (Defense and Security Industrial Base).

Organized by ABIMDE in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for Export and Investment Promotion), the Brazil Pavilion counted with the presence of A.S. Avionics, AEQ, Akaer, Ares, Avibras, BCA, CBC, Condor, CSD, Embraer, Emgepron, Gespi, Kryptus, M&K Assessoria, Mac Jee, Neger, Siatt and Taurus.

During the four days of Indo Defence, the Brazilian space received governmental delegations from friendly nations, such as Indonesia, Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Thailand and Malaysia, among others.

Companies and associations representing the defense industry from several countries visited the Brazilian companies and ABIMDE booths, seeking to strengthen relationships and establish partnerships in research, development and production of new solutions for the market. Several rounds of negotiations took place in the two meeting rooms of the Brazilian space.

In the view of the Executive President of ABIMDE, General Aderico Mattioli, “the opportunities for BIDS were greatly enhanced by the effective participation of the team from the Ministry of Defense of Brazil and the Brazilian Embassy in Indonesia, strengthening the relationships with delegations from Indonesia and friendly countries present at the event.

In his evaluation, “the companies could count on a very cozy and functional space, which facilitated the meetings and negotiations”. General Mattioli also emphasized the relevant role of ApexBrasil for the projection of Brazilian capabilities.

Colonel Antonio Ribeiro, Project Director of ABIMDE, highlighted the great opportunity to present the Brazilian BIDS to this market: “Southeast Asia and its surroundings is a highly promising region for Brazilian defense and security products. We already have several business partners in the area, with whom we can intensify our relationship; moreover, the degree of interest shown signals the possibility of starting new and fruitful partnerships with other governments”.
