The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) is present at the 19th edition of LABACE (Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition), the largest business aviation fair in Latin America. Organized by the Brazilian General Aviation Association (ABAG), the event takes place between 06 and 08/08 at Congonhas Airport in São Paulo (SP).

The fair brings together the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers, the main suppliers and service providers in the aviation sector, as well as aircraft owners, enthusiasts and authorities.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, accompanied by members of the Air Force High Command, the Commander of the General Support Command (COMGAP), Air Chief Marshal Ricardo Augusto Fonseca Neubert, and the Director of the Airspace Control Department (DECEA), Air Chief Marshal Alcides Teixeira Barbacovi; the Director General of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA), Air Brigadier Maurício Augusto Silveira de Medeiros, and other FAB General Officers.

At LABACE 2024, the Commander of the Air Force visited various stands. He emphasized the importance of the projects presented for the development of aviation in Brazil, praised the technological innovations on display and spoke of the novelty for the next edition of the event.

“This fair is an aviation business event. It’s an opportunity for the commercial sector of Brazilian civil aviation. Traditionally held at Congonhas Airport, from next year it will be hosted by the Air Force at Campo de Marte, in our Aeronautical Material Park in São Paulo. This change will further strengthen the relationship between military and civil aviation, especially in São Paulo, where the largest airlines are based, further promoting our activities at Campo de Marte,” said Lieutenant Brigadier Damasceno enthusiastically.

ABAG’s President, Flávio Pires, thanked the Air Force for its continuous support throughout all editions of LABACE. “The FAB has been fundamental not only in airspace control, which has always been carried out in a professional and organized manner, but also in the country’s airport infrastructure. Our airspace control sector is a global example. We would also like to thank them for their support at events held at airports, such as this one. My sincere thanks on behalf of General Aviation,” he said.

With the presence of more than 150 exhibitors and visitors from various countries, LABACE 2024 reaffirmed its role as one of the main events on the global aviation calendar. The FAB’s participation underlines the importance of military aviation in Brazil’s development and security, as well as promoting integration with civil aviation society.
