The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) signed, on Monday (June 27), at the headquarters of the Air Force Command (COMAER), in Brasilia (DF), a contract that enables actions with the potential to increase efficiency in the management of real estate assets under the jurisdiction of the FAB.

The ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant Brigadier Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior; members of the Air Force High Command; General Officers; the President of BNDES, Gustavo Henrique Moreira Montezano, and members of the Bank’s Board of Directors.

The document was signed through the Directorate of Infrastructure of the Air Force (DIRINFRA) and the BNDES. The purpose of the contract is to carry out studies and implement a plan to privatize, by contracting BNDES, two properties owned by the Federal Government and under the responsibility of COMAER. One is located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, the former headquarters of the Air Force Logistic Transportation Center (CTLA) and the other is in the city of Guarujá, located at Santos Air Base (BAST).

According to Lieutenant Brigadier Baptista Junior, with the signing of the contract, COMAER seeks actions that increase the efficiency of the management of its assets, reducing expenses and rationalizing spending, as well as alternatives for generating complementary revenue, aiming at the economic destination of part of its real estate assets. “What we did today was the signing of a pilot project, with two important areas under our management, which should bring many results in the future. We are sure that this partnership will bear inestimable fruit for the FAB,” continued the General Officer.

The President of the BNDES highlighted that the partnership with the FAB is an innovation. “The Bank and the Air Force will create a real estate solution that aims to bring operational services, monetizing assets that today are not operational. It is something innovative. The BNDES is lending its technical knowledge to make good use of national assets”, he highlighted.
