This Tuesday (07), the Ministry of Defense (MD), through the Secretariat of Defense Products (SEPROD), held the Brazil-Slovenia Meeting, to promote Brazilian aeronautical and defense companies to Slovenian government officials. The initiative promotes Brazil on the international scene as a country that holds technologies and an extensive industrial park. In return, Slovenian companies also had the opportunity to present solutions to the Brazilian government.
The meeting, in virtual format at the folder’s headquarters, was attended by the Ambassador of Brazil in Slovenia, Eduardo Prisco, and the Ambassador of Slovenia in Brazil, Gorazd Rencelj, in addition to the support of the Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materials Industries (ABIMDE) and the National Union of Defense Materials Industries (SIMDE). Among the Brazilian products presented were radars; command and control solutions; aircraft and solutions for maintenance and modernization; naval solutions; conventional armaments, such as pistols, rifles and non-lethal; bombs and rockets; uniforms and vests; and armor.
The Secretary of Defense Products of Brazil, Rui Chagas Mesquita, highlighted the purpose of the action in promoting the national Defense Industrial Base (BID). “It was an opportunity to strengthen the relationship with Slovenia and prepare them to get to know the vast potential of the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base, offering solutions that can strengthen the Defense area in this region and connect the private sector of both countries,” he said.
On behalf of Brazil, were also present the Director of Defense Products (DEPROD-MD), Rear-Admiral Vagner Belarmino de Oliveira; the Executive President of ABIMDE, Division General R/1 Aderico Visconte Pardi Mattioli; and the Vice President of Institutional Relations of SIMDE, Major Brigadier R/1 Nilson Carminati.
