Last Thursday, January 23rd, the Director General of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA), Air Brigadier Maurício Augusto Silveira de Medeiros, paid an institutional visit to the company IACIT, located in the city of São José dos Campos (SP).
The main objective of the meeting was to present IACIT’s strategic projects aimed at Brazil’s Aerospace Control and Defense and to highlight the impacts and benefits of the company’s exclusive technological solutions for national sovereignty. It also strengthened institutional ties between the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and IACIT.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the DCTA, the Deputy Director of the DCTA, Major General David Almeida Alcoforado; the Head of the Institutional Relations Office, Colonel Carlos Alberto de Sousa; and members of the company: the CEO of IACIT, Luiz Carlos Paiva Teixeira; the Director of Marketing and Sales, Gustavo Castro Hissi; the Director of Operations, Paula Martins; and the Director of Technology, Fernanda Menezes.
For IACIT’s CEO, Luiz Carlos Paiva Teixeira, the visit by Lieutenant Brigadier Medeiros represents an extremely important milestone for the integration between the Armed Forces and the national defense industry, and a moment that reinforces the relevance of technological and strategic cooperation for strengthening Brazil’s sovereignty.
“Their presence at IACIT symbolizes the recognition of the technological excellence developed in the country, as well as the appreciation of partnerships that contribute directly to the advancement of systems that meet the operational and strategic needs of the Armed Forces. This interaction is a clear example of how synergy between the public and private sectors is essential for sustainable development and the pursuit of national technological autonomy,” he said.
During the meeting, the Director General of DCTA emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional ties and the relevance of the Triple Helix for integrated and effective management. “The work carried out by IACIT, especially focused on radar development, is highly specialized and is not something that any company can start doing overnight. It requires solid governance and the collaboration of an entire team to overcome challenges and reach new heights. I am very grateful for the opportunity and hope that we can continue to strengthen this partnership for the defense and control of Brazilian airspace,” he said.
