Condor Technical Exercise takes place at Anápolis Air Base from 24/04 to 09/05

The First Squadron of the Second Transport Group (1°/2° GT) – Condor Squadron concluded, on May 9th, the Condor Technical Exercise (EXTEC), held at Anápolis Air Base (BAAN), which included the participation of 50 military personnel from the 1°/2° GT, and three student pilots from the Second Squadron of the Sixth Aviation Group (2/6th GAV) – Guardian Squadron.

The training included technical and operational aspects of the C-99 aircraft, adaptation to the jet performance of the new pilots, as well as flight instructor training.

The main technical and operational benefits concern the basic instruction in the locality of Anápolis (GO), without air traffic interference, providing a didactic and continuous basic training, besides the great economy of time and financial resources, once the flights are performed without intercurrences.

The Commander of the 1st/2nd GT, Lieutenant Colonel Davidson da Silva Paiva, highlighted the importance of the training, by allowing the new air operators to be able to compose the crews in the aerologic transport missions, as well as in the training and operational maintenance of the Condor Squadron pilots. “In addition, the Technical Exercise can contribute to the initial training of the pilots of the 2nd/6th GAV, who, after completion, will carry out various missions in the surveillance and control of Brazilian airspace,” he concluded

During EXTEC Condor, doctrinal aspects between the Air Units and the Preparatory Command (COMPREP) were also addressed, as well as ground activities. After the end of the exercise, the squadron returned to Galeão Air Base.
