Fort Leonard Wood, MO (USA) – An aspiring Engineering Officer of the Brazilian Army concluded the US Army Engineer Basic Office Leader Course (EBOLC), at the US Army School of Engineering, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Officer Aspirant Renan Sum Dutra Martins was the highlight among the international students.

The course aims to prepare new officers for entry into the U.S. Army’s Engineering Corps, enabling them to exercise the function of engineering platoon commander. The course lasted 21 weeks and was attended by 43 students, 40 of whom were U.S. Army officers and three international military personnel from Brazil, Lebanon, and Uganda.

During the Engineer Basic Office Leader Course, the main activities developed were instructions and tests about explosives and destruction, scoring, engineering reconnaissance, vertical and horizontal constructions, and engineering advice for decision making.

Aspirant Officer Sum received the EBOLC International Military Student Distinguished Honor Graduate distinction, for having finished the course with a high score and for being the highlight among the international students.
