Apucarana (PR) – Between August 4 and 16, the Brazilian Army, through the military organizations subordinated to the 15th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, based in Cascavel (PR), conducted a training exercise in the western region of the state of Paraná. This exercise was essential for the troops’ certification as a Readiness Force, guaranteeing their permanent availability for use.
On August 10, a graduation ceremony was held where all the resources used in the exercise were presented. The ceremony included helicopters, armored reconnaissance and combat vehicles, operational drones and high-tech communications equipment. All the military personnel taking part in the exercise were also present, demonstrating the training and coordination necessary for effective operations.
Approximately 1,400 military personnel and more than 270 vehicles, including the Guarani armored personnel carriers, were involved in a comprehensive combat simulation. The activities took place in the cities of Cascavel, Santa Teresa do Oeste, Vera Cruz do Oeste, Ramilândia, Missal and the district of São Roque. The operation included the movement of armored vehicles on side roads and previously authorized private land.
The exercise involved a march into combat marked by combat simulations, demonstrating the troops’ ability to respond to adverse situations. There was also a comprehensive demonstration of the equipment available, including the use of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (SARP) and the solution of operational incidents.
The highlight of the activity was a scouted attack on a defensive position combining VBR Cascavel and VBTP Guarani vehicles, followed by an investment in the São Roque location, ending with the consolidation and maintenance phases.
