Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On August 21, 2024, military personnel from the Army Command and Staff School (ECEME), students from the Command and Staff Course (CCEM) and the Management Course for Military Engineers (CDEM), had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the IDV company (formerly IVECO Defence Vehicles), in the city of Sete Lagoas/MG. The activity took place in the context of a Request for Cooperation in Instruction (PCI) carried out with second-year students from the aforementioned courses.
During the visit, led by the company’s main managers, they were shown the details of the production of the VBTP-MSR 6×6 Guarani and the dynamics of how the organization works as part of the country’s Defence Industrial Base (BID).
On the occasion, the soldiers were also able to learn a little more about how the VBTP-MSR 6×6 Guarani works and the functional quality tests carried out on every vehicle assembled by the factory, involving vehicle dynamics, obstacle transposition and navigation.
The visit gave the members of the Marechal Castello Branco School a deeper understanding of the strategic partnership between the EB and IDV, represented by the successful Systems and Materials for Military Use (SMEM) and the future strategic projects to be carried out jointly. All these activities contribute to the modernization of the Brazilian Army’s armoured forces and the development of national defence.
