Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On September 2, 2024, a ceremony was held to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Cyber Defense between Brazil and Portugal. Division General Alan Denilson Lima Costa, the Brazilian Cyber Defense Commander, and Brigadier General Paulo Miguel Paletti Correia Leal, the Commander of the Portuguese Cyber Defense Operations Command, were delegated to sign the partnership instrument.
The 2008 National Defense Strategy defined cyber as one of the 3 strategic sectors, and the Brazilian Army was given responsibility for coordinating the sector within the scope of Defense.
In this context, this important partnership instrument strengthens international cooperation ties, especially in the areas of education, doctrine and training, which contributes to greater integration, training and mutual cyber resilience between these friendly nations, through collaborative action.
