Buenos Aires (Argentina) – The Final Coordination Meeting of the Combined Exercise Arandu will take place this last week of April, in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Arandu Operation has great relevance for the Brazilian Army and it is the only exercise in the field in which the Land Force will participate with troops abroad. Its purpose is to consolidate the bonds of union, cooperation and friendship between the Brazilian and Argentinean armies, besides promoting the sharing of doctrinal experiences in General Staff planning and in the use of special operations troops, paratroopers, air and armored vehicles.
The execution of the Arandu military exercise cycle was established at the XIV Bilateral Conference, in 2020. In 2022, a Simulation Exercise with the Virtual Battle System was held in Argentina, with the objective of training the staffs of the troops of both countries.
Operation Arandu 2023 will take place in the General Ávalos Field of Instruction, in Argentina, from July 31st to August 4th. 322 Argentinean military personnel and 300 Brazilian military personnel from the Army Staff, Land Operations Command, Southern Military Command, Army Social Communication Center, 2nd Mechanized Cavalry Brigade, 12th Light Infantry Brigade (Aeromobile), Parachute Infantry Brigade, Army Aviation Command, and Special Operations Command will act within the scope of conventional warfare. Aircraft and armored vehicles from both countries will also be used.
