The 9th Field Artillery Group (9th GAC) participated, from May 16th to 20th, in the Force Readiness Combat Fire Training (FORPRON) – Operation Steel and Fire, at the Betione Field of Instruction. The 9th GAC, equipped with the 105mm M101 AR, executed real Artillery shots, including aerial observation, and used night vision goggles for night shooting observation.
During the operation, the 9th GAC also supported the 6th BIM in the observation and correction of artillery fire using a drone, in an experimental activity. A section from the 2nd Battery of the 6th Missile and Rocket Group also conducted shots with the ASTROS System, using the TS-09 rocket.
